God Works All Things Out
It’s been a whirlwind of a week. When I woke up last Monday, I had no idea what was in store for me. I was called into the boss’s office and told that the company was letting me go. Wow, my world just fell completely apart. I had no idea that this was coming. I had grown comfortable with where I was at and now I didn’t know what was in store for my future.
It’s funny how we tend to run closer to God when things like this happen. In a way, I believe God allows certain circumstances to come up in order for us to draw closer to Him. My wife and I probably prayed more these last couple weeks than we have in our entire marriage (ha jk, but it felt like it).
Isn’t it awesome to know that we can go to God when problems do arise, though? He’s always in control, even when it seems like the world is spinning out of control. He’s always faithful, even when we’re not faithful. He always knows what’s in store for our lives, even when we are running around like a chicken with its head cut off trying to figure out what to do.
I thank God for my wife. She pushes me to be all that I can be. When I feel insignificant, she makes me feel like I’m Superman. When I told her about being let go, I won’t lie, we both were scared. Panic tried to set in, but I knew that God had something great in store for me. We both prayed and asked God to open the right door for me to walk through.
I got my resume together and started my job search. I can’t even tell you how many jobs I applied for. A couple days later, I got a call back for an editorial position. I went in for an interview and the next day I was offered the job. Wow, it happened so fast. My current job ends this Friday and I start my new job on Monday. In today’s economy, this was nothing short of a miracle.
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28)
God is so good!!! He never ceases to amaze me. He always provides, even when it looks like there is no way. I know this isn’t a long column, but I just wanted to share my testimony with you today. It’s really been a crazy week and a half of not knowing and having to trust completely in God. I want to thank all of you who have been praying for me through this.
Love you all and see you next week!!!
