In Loving Memory
“those times are over now all i have are the memories but they will last forever as i get down on my knees and say one last prayer to calm the hurt and pain for i know one day i’ll see you i’ll see you once again”
It’s always hard to lose someone you love. This past weekend my Uncle Isaac Morales passed away. Right now my family is going through a time of grieving and I wanted to ask you all to say a little prayer for us all. It would be greatly appreciated.
I’m getting ready to head out to New Mexico for the funeral and I know its going to be hard. It’s during times like these that I don’t really know what to say. Death is one of the hardest things that we have to face in our lives. Especially when it’s someone that is really close to you. My Uncle meant so much to me and my family. He was filled with so much love and compassion and we’re all going to miss him a lot.
It seems like whenever something happens in my life, I find myself at a piece of paper with my pen. I’m not always the best when it comes to speaking what’s on my heart, so I’ve always shared what I was feeling through my writing. There’s something about writing that brings a peace and I’m praying that these words somehow minister to my family as we go through this tough time.
I wrote the above song on the day my grandmother passed away, May 11, 1994. That’s just the chorus to the song. The verses are a little more personal, so I’ll leave them off today, but that song means so much to me that I wanted to share it in this column. I believe that one day I will see my Uncle again. I will cling to that hope that he is up in Heaven with Jesus and that someday our family will all be reunited in God’s presence.
As I look back at his life, I know that he had so much love for his family. He loved all his daughters so very much and his grandkids even more. His life will be missed but not forgotten. Auntie Donna, I love you and I am praying for you and all the family during this time. Be strong and keep you faith in God. All things work out for the good for those that love Him. (Romans 8:28)
