HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!!!!
I'm headed back to New Mexico for Thanksgiving, so all of you in RATON, NM, make sure to come by and say hey. As for everyone else, I pray you have a great Thanksgiving. Eat a lot of turkey for me, but before the food, before the football and even before family and friends, remember to "Put Him First" this holiday season.
I wanted to do a lil' something different this week, so bear with me. Below is a list of things I'm thankful for. Some serious, some funny, some absurd and some just random things that popped into my head. They're listed in no particular order (except the first one), so I hope you enjoy.
I'm thankful for...
- My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for dying on the cross and setting me free from a life of sin. (Of course I had to "Put Him First")
- My pen and my guitar - instruments God has given me to bring glory to His Name.
- My monkey in my bathroom - (Long story for another time. Actually if you really want to know email gabe@puthimfirst.com and he'll let you know all about it.)
- Victory Outreach and Pastor Sonny Arguinzoni - I'm so grateful to be a part of this great ministry.
- My Pastor Ernie, Sister Irma and the whole Lopez family (and all of VO Houston) - for believing in me despite all my mistakes and failures and giving me an opportunity to serve God with you.
- The United States of America - I love my country.
- Gummy Savers and Starburst Jelly Beans
- Another Day, Another Breath and Another Chance to get this thing called life right.
- PutHimFirst.com and my bro Gabe and all the work he puts into this website.
- My friends all over the world that still love me, even though I don't always email them back or return their phone calls.
- Blue Toilet Water (Don't Ask)
- Everyone who reads this column from week to week. I'd love to mention every one of you by name, but that would take forever. Just know that I really do appreciate you all. You're the ones that keep me writing every week.
- M&M Cookies - "mmmmmm cookies"
- My Job and all the people I work with.
- Mom's home cooking.........Celina's or Gabe's home cooking..........heck, I'll eat anyone's home cooking.
- My truck - I'm blessed to finally have a vehicle that doesn't break down all the time.
- God's Word - the Bread that gives me life.
- Dre and Siobhan for making me a soon-to-be uncle.
- All my relatives, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. - I know a lot of you read this column every week and I pray that you continually be blessed and that God continues to do that work in your life.
- And last but not least my family:
- Mom and Dad - for raising me in the ways of God and always being there for me.
- My sister Celina - For everything - you mean so much to me, I don't know where I'd be without you.
- My brother Gabe - For keeping me in check.
- My brother Dre - For always bringing a smile to my face.
- My brother Josh - For being a tackling fool. THAT''S HOW JD DO IT!!!!
The first song I ever wrote was a song called "thank You". I'll leave you with that. Have a GREAT TURKEY DAY!!!!!!
