PRICELESS!!!

Over 30 hours of driving. Over $200 in gas and food. 2 Vacation Days taken at work. $4 ticket prices for the game. Having to listen to Gabe and Celina fight the whole way (no price is that steep). Getting a chance to watch my bro Dre pitch and spend time with my family – PRICELESS!!!

As you all know, I went to Tennessee this past weekend, so I’m still recovering from a long, long, looonnnnggggg trip. So bear with me this week as I write. MANNNNN, I hate those Volunteers. What is a Volunteer anyways? Am I supposed to be afraid of one? Ooooooo, watch out, here comes a volunteer, I’m so scared. (jk Curtis if you still read these columns). Serious though, it was great to just get out and watch a baseball game, although I almost lost my salvation wanting to throw down with those crazy Tennessee fans who scream obscenities and throw hamburgers at innocent pedestrians (inside joke, ask Celina). I’m just glad that I made it home still saved.

This week I wanted to talk a little bit about God’s view of us here on earth. Last week I said that He was “You’re Biggest Fan.” Around 2000 years ago, God put a price tag on the human race. He loved us so much that He sent His only begotten Son to die on a cross so that we might be saved. Jesus’ blood is priceless. It can’t be bought. Only by His mercy, by His grace, by His sacrifice can we be saved.

Matthew 13:45-46 says, “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking beautiful pearls, who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it.”

If you found that one pearl of great price, would you sell everything you had to obtain it? I believe that Jesus did that for us. He left heaven and all He had to find you. You are a special pearl, a treasure out of darkness in His eyes. There’s a song by Third Day called “Love Song” that has always been one of my favorites. It always reminds me of God’s love for me.

“Third Day – Love Song

I’ve heard it said that a man would climb a mountain
Just to be with the one he loves
How many times has he broken that promise
It has never been done.
I’ve never climbed the highest mountain
But I walked the hill of Calvary

Just to be with you, I’d do anything
There’s no price I would not pay
Just to be with you, I’d give anything
I would give my life away.

I’ve heard it said that a man would swim the ocean
Just to be with the one he loves
How may times has he broken that promise
It can never be done
I’ve never swam the deepest ocean
But I walked upon the raging sea

Just to be with you, I’d do anything
There’s no price I would not pay
Just to be with you, I’d give anything
I would give my life away.

I know that you don’t understand
the fullness of My love
How I died upon the cross for your sins
And I know that you don’t realize
how much that I gave you
But I promise, I would do it all again.

Just to be with you, I’ve done everything
There’s no price I did not pay
Just to be with you, I gave everything
Yes, I gave my life away.”

You’re priceless in God’s eyes. Don’t ever forget that. He’s willing to do anything for you. He’d drive a million miles. He’d swim the deepest oceans. He’d climb the highest mountains, just to be with you.

As you go about your week, know that you are special in His eyes. May God continue to bless you and remember to always Put Him First!!!!!

w/muchluv,
