“A CLEAN UP”

There’s nothing I would rather do than be in His presence. Sometimes I’ll just pick up my guitar and play. I’ll sit there in my room and just wait on Him to come down and meet me. It’s during that time, that alone time with Him, that I feel most safe, if that makes sense. Nothing else around matters anymore. All the worries of the world seem to disappear. All my past failures are forgotten. It’s then that I know that everything’s going to be alright.

It’s in those times that God begins to do something in your life. Everything starts to make sense. Everything becomes clear. There’s so much filth and garbage that creeps into our minds every day and it takes that alone time with God to filter out all of that negativity. That’s why I believe it’s so important that we spend quality time with Him every day. That’s why we started “Put Him First.com,” to remind people that it’s crucial that we make God our Number One Source.

I wrote a song called “all to Thee” when I was in college. It’s a song about coming to God and asking him for “A CLEAN UP.” Sometimes we make mistakes and we fail God. Sometimes we feel like we can’t come to Him because of something we did. But, I have good news for you (even better news than saving money on car insurance), God is always there to forgive us. There’s nothing we can do that will ever make Him stop loving us. All we need to do is come to Him and lay it all down at His feet.

“all to Thee

here i am with this garbage in my heart
asking You to filter through
take away all that’s holding me back
from totally serving You
strike away anything impure
and draw me back to You
for here i stand filthy like rags
giving it all to You

and i lay it all at Your feet
never to return
and i give it all to Thee
to throw away and burn
for my sin is cast away
and You have cleansed my soul
and the old is passed away
and You have made me whole”

I didn’t really have a lot to say this week, but I know that God is calling each of us to a closer relationship with Him. If you haven’t had “A Clean Up” lately, I suggest you take some time out of your busy schedule and set up an appointment with the One that can wash you white as snow. He’s waiting right there with that scrub brush ready to make you sparkly clean.

God Bless and Have A Great Week!!!!
