2007

Happy New Year!!! I’ve missed you all. It seems like it’s been a long time since I last wrote, so I’m glad to be back and ready to get the New Year started right. I pray you all had a great Holiday Season and that you were blessed beyond expectation.

I’ve been praying for God to give me direction on where to go and what to do in and through PutHimFirst.com in 2007. I have a million different ideas and thoughts of my own, but I don’t want to be led by my own ways. Proverbs 19:21 says, “Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.”

I want every word I write to be for Him in 2007. I want every song I sing to be about Him in 2007. I want every move I make to be the move He wants me to make in 2007. I want everything I do to be in the confines of His will for my life in 2007.

I’m sure by now that many of you have started your “New Year’s Resolutions”. Every year people use this time to start fresh. They say, “I’m going to give up this or give up that. I’m going to exercise more, lose weight. I’m going to start running more, etc. etc.” These might all be good things, but the most important thing we can do in 2007 is get to know God more. That should be all of our New Year’s Resolution this year.

Matthew 6:33 says, “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”

There were some rough times last year, but there were also good times. There’s some things from 2006 that I want to leave there, but then again, there are certain things I want to carry over into 2007. I don’t want to make this a recollection column about 2006, though. I want to hopefully get you to draw closer to God this year. Now, more than ever we need to have more of Him in our lives. If we are going to accomplish all that God has for us this year, we need to make spending time with Him our number one priority. How can we know God’s heart if we never spend time with Him? How can we know which way to go or what do if we never ask for His guidance?

I’m putting out the challenge this year for us as Christians to grab ahold of God this year. We can’t rely on the past. We can’t rely on our old way of thinking. We must rely on God in the here and now. He has so much in store for you this year. You are so precious to Him and He has great things planned for your life.

Jeremiah 29:11 says, “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’”

It’s up to you if you’re going to walk in that calling. It may take giving up certain things. It may take letting go of certain friends. It may take more of your effort, more of your time, more of your finances. But, if you really put all into what God has for you to do, you will be amazed at what He does in and through you this year.

This is your year! This is the year where you’re going to see many breakthroughs. Those things you struggled with in 2006 are going to go away in 2007. Those mountains that seemed impossible to climb are going to be topped in 2007. Those relationships that seemed irreparable are going to be mended in 2007. That fire that seems to have dimmed is going to be reignited in 2007. God is going to show you the miraculous in 2007. Do you believe?

What does PHF hope to accomplish in 2007? We just want to be faithful servants to the calling that God has placed over our lives. We want Him to be our main focus this year. We want His will to be done and ours to be put to the side. We want more of Him and less of us.

I’m looking forward to sharing many great times with all of you as we venture together into an exciting New Year. Let’s continue to “Put Him First” and watch and see what God is going to do!!!!!

w/muchluv,
