When the World Comes Against You
God is so good. He is doing awesome things in my life. This past weekend really confirmed that I’m doing what God has called me to do. We had an opportunity to go to Corsicana, TX this past Saturday and minister in music. Enock, CRS and AZA performed and at the end of the night 30 kids gave their lives to Christ. We were able to be a part of a street rally in the afternoon and then ended with a concert that night. God moved in a powerful way.
Also, we’re almost finished with “The PHF Compilation…7 Times I Fall” CD. The past three months we’ve been working on this project and it seemed like we were never going to finish. We are in the final stages and I am so blessed to do music for God. I really believe that this CD is going to touch a lot of lives. I thank God for everyone that was involved in this project. God orchestrated it from beginning to end and I can’t wait till May 5 when we have our Record Release Party.
Whenever you begin to walk in that calling and in that anointing that God has placed in your life, there will always be opposition. The enemy doesn’t want you to do what God has called you to do. He will try by all means to stop you. We’re nearing the end of this CD and it really has seemed like so many things have come up against us. I got a little discouraged and even began to question God if this is really what He wants me to do. I want to be in His will. I ask Him everyday in prayer to show me what to do, because I don’t ever want to be outside that calling He’s placed in my life.
It would be so easy to quit. I could pack up my stuff and move back to New Mexico, but I know that God has called me to Houston for this season in my life. Sometimes it’s hard to stand guard and man your position that God has put you in. Sometimes you just have to shrug off what is said to you or is done to you. I’m not going to lie, it hurts, but God has called us to rise above those that come against us.
Isaiah 54:17 says, “No weapon formed against you shall prosper…”
1 Corinthians 15:58 says, “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.”
What do you do when the world comes against you? You stand. You hold on to the promise that God has given you. You keep doing what He’s called you to do and He will work all things out according to His purpose and for His glory.
I started off this column with all the good things God is doing in my life because sometimes we need to remind ourselves about God’s blessings. We focus on the negative so many times that it distracts us from our calling. No matter what you’re going through, just know that He is always there for you. Man may hurt you, the world may come against you, but you can always go to Him. He will give you strength to endure any trial. Don’t give up. Keep pressing towards that mark.
“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28)
