A Little Push
Hello everyone. Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving. Mine was awesome. My brother Dre, his wife Siobhan and my niece Trinity came to visit us in Houston this past weekend and we had a blast. I had so much fun playing with my niece and spending time with my brother and sister-in-law. We had lots and lots of food and just a good time altogether.
We had a chance to work on some music with Siobhan over the last couple of days. I was telling her before she came to visit that I was really excited to start working with her. I was thinking about when I first met her way back in the day and how I’d always encourage her to sing. I remember talking to her on instant messenger and asking her about what she felt God called her to do, and to see that dream come to pass is so awesome. I’m so proud of her. She’s come a long way in her singing and her confidence and more importantly her relationship with God.
I love to see when people start walking in God’s calling in their lives. I really believe that is what God has called me to do, to help people reach their destiny in Christ. I’ve been blessed to work with some awesome people in my life, and when I start seeing them reach their potential it blesses me so much. We started PHF Productions for that very reason. I love music, but it’s more than just the music. It’s seeing people walk in the gifts and talents God has given them. It’s seeing them being used by God to reach people for His honor and His glory.
I wrote a column called “Rekindle That Fire” a couple weeks ago and God has really started to stir me up again to get back to doing what He’s called me to do. Being able to work with Siobhan really lit a fire underneath me. Music is my passion in life. God has put that in me. I know He has given me the ability to write and produce and I count it an honor and a privilege to be used by Him.
I love how God gives you that little push sometimes and that momentum carries you to start doing what He’s called you to do. I’ve been serving God for awhile now and over time I’ve seen that there are both high times and low times in your Christian walk. As I writer, I’ve had times where everything just flows out of me so easily. I’m able to just sit down and write and the words just come together and everything falls into place. Then there are times where I struggle to even find something to write about. Even in writing this column there are times like that, but God always does comes through.
Are you reaching your potential? Are you where you need to be? Are you walking in that promise God gave to you? I always try to encourage people through my words in this column from week to week. I believe God gave me this forum for that very reason. I really want to see you become all that God’s called you to be. I want to see you live a successful life. I want to see you fulfill your destiny.
Maybe you’ve gotten away from that promise. Maybe you’ve taken a step back from that calling. Maybe you’re going through one of those low times in your walk. Be encouraged. God still loves you. He’s calling you to get back on track today. Even if it’s a struggle to get back to that place, it is worth it. Scripture tells us to “Fight the Good Fight.” I’m praying that maybe, just maybe, this is the “Little Push” you need to get that fire burning and that momentum going again.
